ERB Services - Wheelchair accessible Jumbo Ambulance

The 'Jumbo Ambulance' is a 40 seat Full Executive Coach, fitted with a wheelchair lift, and air suspension for passenger comfort. On board facilities include, a toilet that will accept a wheelchair, special saloon heating, anti glare double glazed windows, a servery unit for snacks and drinks including microwave oven, video cassette player, telephone, oxygen nebulizer and B.P. Monitor. We are the only operator in the North East whose vehicle is constructed especially for the disabled, so that they can be carried in a dignified and comfortable manner. Drivers are fully trained in the care of disabled passengers, and wheelchair users can be restrained with Unwin clamps and inertia reel harnesses for extra safety. Should you ever have a need for such a vehicle we would be happy to give you a very competitive quote.

New Jumbulance Travel Trust

New Jumbulance Travel Trust have three full size coaches which have been specifically designed to cater for the needs of the sick, severely disabled or elderly, easily accessible with platform lifts and complete with trolley beds, toilet, kitchenette and storage for wheelchairs and luggage. The "Jumbulances" are primarily used by groups of disabled people to travel to a holiday destination with a team of volunteer helpers.

A charity which provides adapted vehicles for wheelchair users - for self drive these may be used for journeys throughout the UK and the EU, for up to two weeks at a time. Volunteer drivers can apply on line.

Bugler Coaches

Bugler Coaches is the leading West Country Coach Operator  Equality Act 2010 (which replaces the Disability Discrimination Acts of 1995 and 2005 on the 1st October 2010) provision.

They have a large fleet of 53 seat coaches (and mini-buses) which have wheelchair lifts and can be configured to carry up to 6 wheel chairs. Bugler Coaches has a long history of serving groups who need these facilities.

Their website http://www.buglercoaches.co.uk/ features a page dedicated to these services and in addition to this their regular Coach Excursions are almost all available to wheelchair users. They also operate Easyrider and Dial-a-Ride services which have an escort on board to help wheelchair users to get out of their homes to visit supermarkets and take a trip to the town centre.

The Company operates three new fullyEquality Act 2010 (which replaces the Disability Discrimination Acts of 1995 and 2005 on the 1st October 2010) compliant coaches which are full size and are equipped to cater for 6 wheelchair passengers and 25 seated passengers. All vehicles have a fully integrated lift capable of taking the wheelchair user from the kerbside into the vehicle; the floor tracking allows the person to remain in the wheelchair whilst travelling with other passengers. The vehicles have floor level toilet, TV/DVD, air conditioning, hot drink facilities, fridge and reclining seats with belts.
