Therapies for Carers
Claridge House, Surrey
Claridge House is a Quaker centre for healing, rest and renewal, associated with the Friends Fellowship of Healing. It is situated in the small Surrey village of Dormansland, and stands in about two acres of beautiful gardens with many fine trees. The house is over 150 years old and was bought by the Fellowship in 1953, but is now run as a separate charity. There are two wheelchair accessible rooms in the annexe that share an ensuite accessible WC, and shower room.
TFA received the following details from one of our supporters in June 2008: 'All adults are welcome. They have some aids and adaptations but will help if you take your own equipment. Your carer gets 30% off. You can get a bursary if you have no money. They offer a listening ear and healing sessions. There are courses. There is usually a good mix off people with different disabilities and other adults and the groups are always comfortable and fun. There are lovely grounds. All medically prescribed diets are catered for and all food is vegetarian. They are in the last three for the accessibility award at the Cateys this year'. http://www.claridgehouse.quaker.eu.org/
