Family Holiday Association
Some of our key partners include the Youth Hostel Associations, VisitScotland, VisitEngland, the National Trust, National Express, Great Western Railways and many local destination management organisations such as Visit Kent and Visit York.
Most of the families we support have never had the opportunity to spend some holiday time together. We are there for the 2.2 million families who don’t go on holiday because of poverty. These families are struggling with problems such as severe and long-term illness, bereavement, mental health issues, disability and domestic violence.
Many families also lack the confidence and social capital to take on managing a break away from home – an experience that many of us take for granted. We believe that spending quality time together not only builds stronger, healthier and happier families, but also strengthens the wider community.
The skills gained and confidence built through a simple break away from home can have a significant impact on a family’s ability to engage with their local community and society more widely.
All the families we support are referred to us by someone already working with them to support their welfare. Our wide referral network includes teachers, health visitors, social workers and other charities such as Barnardo’s and Shelter.
