Tim Gardiner MBE - President

Trained in hotel management, Tim held a number of senior management posts in the Hotel and Catering industry. Later in his career, he became involved with voluntary organisations specialising in providing holidays for disabled people. Coupled with his experience as a parent of a wheelchair user, Tim discovered that there was a lot he could offer to enhance the experience and opportunities for this vast market and he joined Tourism for All, first acting as a consultant and then subsequently joining the Board, where he has served as a Trustee for over 15 years. Tim is proud to be part of a team who are passionate about making a better world for all people.

Kenny Boyle

Kenny Boyle - Chair

Kenny’s background is in managing large scale communications and service operations with some of the UK’s most influential marketing organisations – many in the tourism sector, notably: British Airways, Airmiles, Virgin and VisitBritain. He has also provided strategic and marketing consultancy advice to a wide range of leading global brands, including Apple, Hewlett Packard, Sainsbury’s, BT and Rolls-Royce. Kenny has advised a number of charities and social enterprises – including Help for Heroes, The Damilola Taylor Trust, RBLI, Age UK and Lifeline – on commercial, communications and policy matters. Kenny is Director of Operations and Marketing at PeoplePlus, the UK’s largest provider of Adult Education. He has been a Trustee of Tourism for All since 2013.

Chris Veitch

Chris Veitch – Vice Chair

Chris is Vice Chair (Marketing), acting as Tourism for All’s lead in industry relations and in its drive to help UK businesses to become more accessible. Underlying all of Chris’s work is his passion for providing outstanding customer service for all and he sees the development and implementation of Accessible Tourism as a key step in achieving that goal. Chris works closely with VisitEngland, VisitScotland and VisitWales, to help develop and promote Accessible Tourism. He has been, and is currently, involved in major European projects, developing accessible tourism. He has also supported tourism destinations in Australia to help improve their accessibility. Chris’s expertise and knowledge was recognised in February 2017, when he was appointed to be the UK Government Disability Champion for the Tourism Sector. He has been a Trustee of Tourism for All since 2015.

Stephen Dunn

Stephen Dunn – Vice Chair

Stephen is Vice Chair (Governance), with responsibility for Board governance as well as Tourism for All’s support for improving employment opportunities for disabled people in the tourism industry. After an early career in retail, cosmetics and confectionery, Stephen managed a successful, high quality specialist manufacturing business where employee talents and skills counted above all. That experience of creating a totally inclusive workforce led him to the area of disability employment, where for 12 years he worked with some of the largest companies in the UK to increase employment opportunities and create greater equality for disabled employees. Passionate about equality, Stephen strongly supports the belief that tourism and travel should be available to all, with help and support for both the individual traveller and the industry as a whole. He has been a Trustee of Tourism for All for over 10 years.

Ray Veal2

Ray Veal – Treasurer and CEO

Ray’s background is in ICT and he has delivered major projects in both the private and public sectors, across a wide range of industries, including defence, television, technology, financial services and tourism. At VisitBritain, he implemented the EnglandNet database and web search tool which was a forerunner of modern “price comparison” websites. Ray’s focus with Tourism for All is on improving disability awareness and customer service, through the charity’s online training courses and the development of a vibrant “community of interest” for both disabled tourists and travellers and for businesses. Ray has been a Trustee of Tourism for All for over 15 years and has served as Chief Executive since 2013 and as Treasurer since 2017.

Robyn Griffith Jones

Robyn Griffith-Jones

Robyn is a specialist in tourism marketing, management and accessible tourism, with a background working for a range of blue chip travel companies. Robyn has been Senior Lecturer in Tourism and Hospitality Marketing at London South Bank University since 2009 and currently divides her time between lecturing and consulting. Prior to consulting and lecturing Robyn was a Director of the English Tourist Board and held senior public affairs and marketing positions with British Airways, the Victoria & Albert Museum and Cunard Line. She is past travel and tourism editor of the Economist Intelligence Unit and Tourism Management journal. Robyn joined Tourism for All’s Board of Trustees in 2019.

Mark Anderson

Mark Anderson

Mark is the Managing Director for Group Property and for the International Hotel business for Whitbread PLC, a FTSE-100 listed UK company. In this role Mark has responsibility for all Real Estate matters for the Group including maximising value from Whitbread’s £5billion of property assets and he manages the Premier Inn development and operations in Germany and the Middle East. Before Whitbread Mark held a number of senior roles in Sainsbury’s Supermarkets Ltd. Mark holds an MBA from Henley Business School, is a Fellow of the RICS and the Chartered Management Institute and is a member of Association for Project Management. Mark is married with two children and lives in Hampshire, where he enjoys golf and any other sports available! Mark has been a Trustee of Tourism for All since 2014.

Sir Ed Davey MP

Ed is the MP for Kingston and Surbiton and served in the Coalition Cabinet as Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change. He is an economist by training and worked as a management consultant before his first parliamentary win in 1997. Campaigning for equality has been a consistent theme throughout his political career, and his own son’s disability has only served to sharpen his resolve and understanding of the challenges disabled people face. Ed has been a Trustee of Tourism for All since 2016.

Susan Butterworth

Susan Butterworth

Sue is interested in travel and other cultures. Her career was across the NHS and the voluntary sector working with disabled people empowered by the use of assistive technology. This included individuals who wanted to travel in the UK and abroad to maximise opportunities for their work, hobbies or interests and to challenge the social perception and boundaries that can limit personal activity. As a Trustee she supports the work of TFA and its partners to promote easier access to tourism and highlight the quality needed for a good customer experience and freedom of choice for everyone. Sue has been a Trustee of Tourism for All since 2016.

Nirav Shah

Nirav Shah

Nirav joined Tourism for All’s Board of Trustees in 2017 after having volunteered for the charity since 2014 with the aim to improve the experience for all disabled tourists and travellers. He has worked on various projects including their most recent campaign, Tourism is for Everybody. This is a movement of individuals, businesses and policy-makers acting together to improve the experience for disabled tourists and travellers in the UK. Nirav is also an active Muscular Dystrophy Trailblazer. This is a network of young disabled people campaigning to break down barriers and making society more inclusive, ensuring disabled people are able to live full and independent lives.

Jenny McGee

Jenny joined the Board of Trustees in 2017 and is looking forward to contributing to the organisation’s ongoing success. She brings with her extensive experience from a career spanning customer service and relationship management; information provision; corporate communications and crisis management and tourism policy development. At VisitEngland, the national tourist board, Jenny was instrumental in the development of a strategic framework for tourism development; led VisitEngland’s signature industry engagement events, English Tourism Week and the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence, and championed the visitor experience through the national quality assessment schemes and VE’s work encouraging access for all. Jenny is a passionate advocate for the benefits that tourism can bring to the UK economy and its potential to offer life-enhancing experiences for all.
