New Board structure for Tourism for All

Tourism for All (TFA) has appointed current Chair Tim Gardiner MBE to the role of President. Tim, a Trustee of TFA for over 15 years, will be responsible for driving forward a new Ambassadors programme.

Into the role of Chair steps Kenny Boyle, former Marketing Director of VisitBritain and a Trustee for the last 5 years. Working closely with TFA’s Chief Executive Ray Veal, Kenny’s priority will be to ensure that the charity continues to improve the opportunities for disabled tourists and travellers in the UK through its industry training, business advice and customer travel information and booking services.

In other changes two current Trustees take on roles as Vice Chair. Chris Veitch, the prominent consultant and campaigner and the UK government’s Accessibility Champion for the Tourism Sector, becomes Vice Chair (Marketing), acting as TFA’s lead in industry relations and in its drive to help UK businesses to become more accessible.

Stephen Dunn, former Head of Employer Business Development at Remploy and a Trustee for over 10 years, becomes Vice Chair (Governance), with responsibility for Board governance as well as TFA’s support for improving employment opportunities for disabled people in the tourism industry.

Robyn Griffith-Jones, Senior Lecturer in Tourism and Hospitality Marketing at London South Bank University, joins TFA’s Board of Trustees. Robyn’s extensive industry marketing experience and her expertise in accessible tourism will be invaluable in helping to increase TFA’s profile.

Kenny Boyle commented: “I am delighted and proud to have been appointed Chair of Tourism for All and to have the opportunity to work with such a talented team of Trustees. I would like to thank Tim Gardiner for the invaluable work he has done as Chair. These changes to Tourism for All’s Board structure reflect and support our mission to be a relevant and dynamic force for improving the accessibility of the UK tourism industry and for making accessible travel better”.
